Description

• Assess patients from pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics employing both standardized tests and observational assessments.
• Create customized treatment plans that cater to immediate challenges as well as future communication and swallowing goals.
• Implement individualized speech therapy sessions that focus on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing rehabilitation.
• Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and families to craft holistic care plans.
• Provide informative sessions for patients and caregivers to facilitate progress beyond clinical visits.
• Occasionally conduct inpatient evaluations and treatments, ensuring a seamless transition of care during the rehabilitation process.
• Employ diligent and accurate documentation that aligns with the required state, federal, and institutional standards.
• Remain abreast of best practices in the field through continuous professional development and teamwork.

Education

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in D.C.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
