The Pediatric Outpatient clinic is a very busy Pediatric Clinic that treats a variety of hematological and oncology patients. We are unique in that we see regular clinic visits as well as perform infusions.

Scheduled work hours/shift: Monday Friday, 4- 8hour shifts

Our clinic team consists of RNs, CMA, and administrative assistant who work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality and safety of care for our patients. Each day's workflow varies depending on the clinic, but includes working as a team that includes: patient triage, in-clinic procedures, administering chemotherapy, blood products, IV antibiotics, patient/parent education, medication administration including vaccines, CVC line care, obtaining EKG, and care coordination. Team members work alongside providers (including physicians, PAs and NPs) during patient clinic visits to provide the needed care our patients deserve. Other team members that we work alongside include: Social workers, Pharmacists, Psychologist, and Phlebotomists.

LPN Minimum Training and Education : Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. One year of LPN experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. LPN Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
