Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Estimator to join a growing commercial mechanical construction team in the Columbus market. This individual will play a key leadership role in estimating commercial plumbing projects, managing regional estimating efforts, and supporting collaboration between operations, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced estimator with strong commercial mechanical knowledge, leadership ability, and estimating software expertise. Responsibilities Perform detailed plumbing job takeoffs and pricing Develop accurate project estimates for commercial mechanical projects Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers Manage and support the regional estimating team Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to secure scopes and final pricing Lead estimate reviews and finalize project bids Write detailed scope letters and bid clarifications Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure smooth project turnover Assist with estimating database maintenance and spreadsheet development Stay current on estimating software and industry best practices Requirements 10+ years of commercial plumbing or heating estimating experience Strong background in commercial mechanical construction Experience managing or mentoring estimating teams Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications Knowledge of plumbing and piping installation practices Experience with Quicken, QuickBooks, or similar estimating software Excellent communication and organizational skills Journeyman plumbing/HVAC license or equivalent experience preferred Valid driver's license required Preferred Qualifications Experience conducting scope reviews with clients and contractors Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability Comfortable working directly with suppliers and subcontractors Leadership mindset with ability to support multiple regions when needed #J-18808-Ljbffr Gentis Solutions
