Purchasing ManagerThe Purchasing Manager oversees the material and equipment purchases for the Construction Department at Gillette Air Conditioning. Duties and responsibilities will include creating purchase orders, negotiating pricing, establishing long-term purchasing agreements, and managing the overall supply chain strategy. This position is ideal for individuals familiar with supply chain and the construction industry with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant purchasing experience.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesManage material purchases for HVAC, Sheetmetal, Piping, and Plumbing trade teamsDevelop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers to manage pricing, lead times, and service levelsCreate purchase orders that are correctly coded to the correct project, GL account, and phase code for accurate cost accountingUtilize our warehouse and logistics capabilities to improve supply chain efficiency and maximize cost savingsConduct pricing analysis for new and existing product lines and lead cost reduction initiativesImplement standardized pricing agreements and maintain pricing within the ERP systemDevelop processes to increase collaboration between field and office personnel as well as improve communication regarding material availability through order acknowledgements and expected delivery datesTeamworkWillingness to work as part of a team with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foreman, and Estimators to ensure material and equipment availabilityCollaborate with field personnel to ensure material changes or substitutions are in line with our quality standardsContinually looks for ways to improve processes, efficiency, and personal performanceCustomer ServicePerforms all duties with a focus on quality and customer satisfactionSupports company efforts to meet production schedules and customer requirementsCommunicates professionally with supervisors and team members to resolve issuesSafetyFollows all Company safety programs and policiesUses required PPE at all times when appropriateReports unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to the Supervisor or Safety Manager immediatelyCompletes all assigned safety training within required timeframesSupervisory Responsibilities: None at this timeQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
