Responsibilities Position Summary To deliver quality general and psychiatric nursing care to patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders; serve actively and constructively as a member of the multi‑disciplinary treatment team; and to ensure the safety and well‑being of each patient. Responsible for the timely processing of inquiry and referral calls, coordination of all admissions processes, and liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel. Respond to crisis calls and referrals with urgency, verify insurance, triage patients, complete assessments, staff clinical areas effectively, enter calls and admissions in the computer system, and complete all admission paperwork. Communicate with unit staff, assist patient transfer, complete nursing admission assessment, coordinate movement from intake to the unit, administer and document prescribed medication and treatments, and follow hospital policies and procedures regarding admissions. Key Responsibilities Receives all referral/inquiry calls and responds to requests for information, assessment, and possible admission. Provides and documents thorough and accurate assessment of individuals seeking admission. Collaborates with clinical referral sources, families, doctors, agencies, and other callers to ensure assessments and/or admissions are coordinated as smoothly as possible. Licensure Current SC RN license or an RN license from a compact state required.
