Compensation and Benefits Associate

Responsibilities Orrick's Compensation & Benefits practice is seeking a compensation and benefits associate with two to four years of experience focused on the compensation and benefits aspects of complex corporate transactions and day-to‑day counseling of emerging growth companies. We are ideally seeking candidates with experience and/or a desire to work with growth‑stage technology and life sciences companies and investors; experience advising on qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans is a plus but not required. Candidates must be highly motivated and possess excellent academic credentials along with superior oral and written communication, logical reasoning, research, and organizational skills. Our Compensation & Benefits group advises clients on a wide range of compensation and benefits matters impacting both public companies and innovative high‑growth businesses and their investors. We are recognized for our single‑point‑of‑contact approach, proactive counsel, and seamless collaboration with client teams. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience at a peer law firm, exceptional academic credentials, and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Membership to the State Bar of the office of the state in which the candidate expects to be located is required. Compensation & Benefits The expected salary range for this position is between $235,000 and $310,000. Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job‑related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
