This role also serves as the linkage between operations and engineering to develop plant growth and process improvement.**KEY ACCOUNTABILITY/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*** Provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department in areas of safety, GMPs, sanitation, quality, food safety, customer service, and preventative maintenance.* Develop long-term goals for the maintenance department and assist in the continuous growth and progress of the company's short/long-term strategic plans.* Create a positive working environment, support continuous improvement, employee empowerment, and problem-solving skills.* Establish cohesive communication between the maintenance department and different plant/corporate departments.* Ensure all plant equipment, building, and company policies conform to federal, state, and city regulatory agencies.* Implement new solutions to improve equipment efficiency, changeover, and associate safety.* Develop and maintain plant maintenance budgets including annual plant capital.* Manage equipment/building inventory parts MRP system and optimize stock levels.* Stress quality, reliability, and competitive pricing in vendor and contractor relationships.* Verify and approve all Accounts Payable items ensuring authorized purchasing, proper documentation, and GL coding.* Maintain continuous communication with all departments to address production priorities and shortfalls in a timely manner.* Give food safety maintenance items top priority and ensure mechanics follow GMPs.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES)*** Undergraduate or graduate degree.* Food manufacturing experience.* Demonstrated understanding of maintenance.* Demonstrated salaried and hourly management skills.* Budget Management experience.* Vendor/Contractor management experience.* Project Management experience.* Metric Development experience.* Excellent communication skills.MSI Express is an equal opportunity employer.
