Prep CookWe are hiring a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook in Grinnell, IA to prepare food and ingredients for cooking in kettles and mixers. This position is responsible for maintaining an efficient prep area while following strict food safety, quality, and production standards.Prep Cook Responsibilities:Prepare and maintain an efficient prep room setupReview daily kitchen needs and prepare ingredients accordinglyPrepare batches accurately and complete required sign-offsWeigh ingredients as neededOpen boxed ingredients and transfer them into pansOperate stick blenders and other equipmentReturn equipment to the dish room after useInspect equipment before use to ensure it is clean and readyFollow all food safety, sanitation, GMP, and production proceduresMaintain a clean and organized work areaComplete required training and follow all department SOPs and food safety programsRequirements for Prep Cook:Ability to work well as part of a teamGood communication skillsBasic reading comprehensionBasic math, weight, and measurement skillsPrevious prep cook experience preferredBilingual Spanish/English preferred but not requiredAbility to stand and perform repetitive movements throughout the shiftFrequent use of hands and arms to handle equipment, ingredients, and toolsAbility to occasionally walk, stoop, kneel, or crouchAbility to lift and move up to 50 lbsAbility to work in variable temperatures, including hot and cold environmentsQPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
