BAAR Counselor

BAAR Counselor University of California Riverside Job Number: 31895140 Full/Part Time: Full Time Schedule: 8AM - 5PM Salary: $59,000 - $81,200 Position Information This position is critical to the Undergraduate Admissions Department in identifying potential applicants, providing information, and ensuring good relationships with the public, institutions, and organizations involved in outreach/recruitment. The position will also help ensure the Undergraduate Admissions Department is meeting the evaluation timelines and goals. The salary range for the BAAR Counselor is $59,000 - $103,400 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $68,000 annually. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. Education Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Licenses License Requirement: Valid Driver's License. Required Experience Requirement: 4 – 7 years of related experience. Required Minimum Requirements Public Driving Record Required Must possess or obtain a Valid CA Driver License in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles, if driving a university/personal vehicle for university related business. Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours) Required Travel Required Outside of Normal Business Hours required Must be able to pass a Department of Justice and FBI background check. Preferred Qualifications Ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective students and the public. Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population. Ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to effectively manage a large volume of undergraduate admission applications and multiple programs in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality at all times. Ability to organize and set priorities that accurately reflect the importance of the job responsibilities. Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges/universities and specifically at UC, and/or specific colleges and schools. Ability to listen, anticipate, and respond to the needs of customers to achieve excellent customer service measured by outcomes rather than activities.
