Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including dental X-ray and 3D scanner imaging, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient records using electronic medical record open dental (EMR) systems ensuring accurate documentation of medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment plans. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions in both languages, and managing patient comfort throughout visits. Support patient management software operations for scheduling appointments, follow-ups, and maintaining medical documentation. Follow infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination during clinical procedures. Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and clinical procedures including dental sterilization procedures and dental instrument processing. Experience with chairside assisting techniques like four-handed dentistry to enhance workflow efficiency. Ability to perform dental X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control practices specific to dental clinics. Excellent communication skills in both English and [second language], enabling effective patient interaction and education.
