The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by living Gold Beach's Core Values and consistently executing the Seven Steps of Customer Service.

This position creates positive customer experiences by assisting customers with product selection, generating sales, merchandising products, maintaining a clean and organized store, supporting daily operations, and working collaboratively with fellow teammates.

Retail Sales Associates serve as trusted resources for our customers and play a vital role in creating lifelong Customer Advocates while contributing to a safe, welcoming, and profitable store environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Accurately process customer purchases, account charges, returns, exchanges, and special orders.

• Protect company assets and maintain accurate inventory practices.

• Assist with merchandising, stocking, pricing, receiving, and organizing assigned departments.

• Participate in processing new shipments while maintaining clean, organized receiving and back-stock areas.

• Execute daily operational priorities established by store leadership.

• Communicate effectively with teammates and management regarding customer needs, inventory concerns, and operational priorities.

• Embrace continuous learning and actively contribute ideas that improve the customer experience and store operations.

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience during every interaction.

• Help customers locate merchandise in-store and online.

• Assist customers with special orders and project solutions.

Retail Sales Associate II

Retail Sales Associate II positions may include specialty assignments in departments such as Paint, Garden, Feed, or other specialized areas requiring advanced product knowledge and customer expertise.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred.

• Knowledge of retail computer systems or the ability to quickly learn point-of-sale software.

• Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.

• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

• Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

No regular travel is required for this position.

Employees must be able to:

• Frequently stand and walk for extended periods, up to eight (8) hours per shift.

• Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance when appropriate.

• Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, climb, reach, push, and pull merchandise throughout the workday.

• Climb and descend ladders safely.

• Read labels, price tags, computer screens, and written materials.

• Communicate effectively in person and by telephone.

• Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

This position regularly works on the retail sales floor, in warehouse and lumber yard environments, and outdoors as business needs require. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, forklifts, moving equipment, and changing temperatures while maintaining a safe environment for customers and teammates.
