About This Role
We're seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Daycare Teacher to fill in for staff absences and provide top-notch care and educational experiences for children aged 6 weeks and up. As a valued member of our team, you'll be responsible for maintaining a secure and engaging environment, supporting daily routines, and building strong relationships with children, parents, and staff.
What You'll Do- Main responsibility is to ensure the children's safety and well-being at all times, creating a secure and nurturing environment for their growth and development.
- You'll follow established lesson plans or daily schedules, adapting them as needed to meet the unique needs and interests of the children in your care.
- Assist with or lead engaging activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development, tailored to the age and needs of the children.
- Keep the classroom tidy and organized, making it easy for children to learn and grow.
- Effective communication is key: you'll interact with children, staff, and parents in a professional and respectful manner, building trust and rapport.
- Maintain adherence to all relevant licensing regulations, center policies, and health/safety protocols, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
- Support children with daily routines, including meals, diapering, toileting, and other essential needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions, upholding the highest standards of the childcare profession.
- Swiftly report any incidents, concerns, or observations to the appropriate staff member, ensuring timely responses and support.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Flexibility to work on short notice or varying shifts
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting preferred but not required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
- Having current CPR certification is a significant asset, but willingness to obtain it is also valued.
- A Wisconsin Registry Certificate is not essential, but would be a wonderful addition to your qualifications.
- A warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor is crucial for building strong relationships with children and their families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills will help you connect with children, staff, and parents, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Dependability and punctuality are essential for ensuring smooth daily operations and meeting the needs of the children and staff.
- This is an on-call position.
- Hours and days will vary based on staffing needs.
- No weekends
- No week nights
