Reports To: Purchasing Manager

Classification: Salary - Exempt

Position Summary:

The Buyer will be responsible in keeping component inventory levels to sustain a 98% Customer OTD with PO scheduling using MRP and Vendor Managed Inventory.

Essential Job Duties:

• Prepares, issues, and evaluates purchase orders for inventoried purchased components and MRO items
• Negotiates pricing and commercial terms
• Supplier On Time Delivery to meet customer orders
• Inventory Control
• Maintaining MRP Planning Parameters
• Supplier management
• Cost reduction

Required Education:

• Bachelor's Degree, in a business-related area, or equivalent experience (5+ years) in supply management.

Required Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree plus 3 years minimum of supply management /purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Material Requirement Planning
• Manufacturing Purchasing Experience
• Master Data set up
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to read blue prints
• Attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize daily issues
• Intermediate level use of Microsoft Excel

Desired Experience/Skills:

• Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment
• Experience using Macola MRP
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with people at all levels within the organization and with external suppliers
• Skilled at building external and internal relationships
• Understanding of manufacture flow in a discrete production environment
• Understanding Bills of Materials
• Strong analytical skills
• CPM, CPSM, CPIM a plus
