As our Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at Aspen Lake Medical Equipment, you will play a critical role in ensuring clinical excellence and regulatory compliance within our community-focused pharmacy. This hands-on position involves overseeing all dispensing operations, maintaining essential licensures, and managing pharmacy staff while providing compassionate medication counseling, particularly for our senior patients. You will work closely with an experienced pharmacy technician and have the opportunity to lead and grow in pharmacy operations management without the need for travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Texas Board of Pharmacy–designated Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)
• Oversee all prescription dispensing using Liberty pharmacy software
• Ensure full compliance with TSBP, DEA, and other federal and state regulations
• Maintain and renew pharmacy licenses, permits, and registrations
• Manage PBM relationships and coordinate with PSAO (AlignRx) for credentialing and contract compliance
• Counsel patients on medications, drug interactions, and adherence, focusing on the senior population
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and relief pharmacists
• Support and oversee the pharmacy’s home delivery program
• Monitor controlled substance dispensing and comply with Texas PMP requirements
• Conduct or coordinate inventory, audits, and quality assurance activities

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
• Active Texas Pharmacist License in good standing or ability to obtain prior to start
• Eligible and willing to serve as Pharmacist in Charge under Texas law
• DEA registration or ability to obtain
• Experience in retail or independent community pharmacy settings
• Familiarity with Texas Medicaid and major PBM billing/adjudication processes
• Strong knowledge of TSBP regulations and DEA compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years of community pharmacy experience
• Prior experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or in independent pharmacy operations
• Experience using Liberty Rx software
• Familiarity with PSAO operations such as AlignRx
• Experience managing home delivery programs for elderly patients
