Field Service Technician
Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Field Service Technician for a manufacturing company serving the Superior, WI area. In this role, youll provide expert technical support, troubleshoot hydraulic heavy equipment, and deliver high-quality service directly at customer sites. What Youll Do as a Field Service Technician:
- Travel to customer and dealer sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment
- Serve as the primary technical representative, supporting customers and internal teams
- Interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and perform mechanical, hydraulic, and light welding repairs
- Deliver training to customers and service personnel (both classroom and hands-on)
- Document service activities, maintain accurate reports, and communicate updates
- Coordinate travel logistics and follow up to ensure issues are fully resolved
- Assist sales teams with product support and application recommendations
What You Need to Bring to the Field Service Technician Role:
- Associates degree, hydraulic certification, or 5+ years of relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with heavy equipment and attachments
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 80%, including domestic and occasional international travel)
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and independent problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Experience using diagnostic tools (multimeters, pressure gauges, flow meters)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train others
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer use
- Ability to perform light welding in the field
- Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
