This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance for you and your dependents, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.The Nutrition Assistant is responsible for supporting the Nutrition Specialist to prepare and disperse nutritious meals for the children, ages 5 weeks to 6 years, who attend the Bombeck Center. This also includes abiding by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and ODJFS licensing food safety requirements. This position will work with the Nutrition Specialist to maintain a clean and organized kitchen, storage area and assists with daily center laundry needs.The Bombeck Family Learning Center strives to provide the very best care and educational experiences for infants, toddlers and preschoolers ages 6 weeks to 5 years old by working in partnership with families as the children grow and develop. The Center is affiliated with the University of Dayton School of Education and Health Sciences. The Bombeck Family Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and holds a 5-star rating from the State of Ohio's Step Up to Quality rating system.Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentAbility to organize and efficiently prepare food, maintain kitchen and do laundryMaintain a positive working relationship with other staff membersPreferred Qualifications:1 year experience as a Nutrition Assistant or cookKnowledge of nutritional requirements for children 6 weeks through 6 yearsKnowledge of CACFP ProgramEffective written and verbal communication skillsSpecial Instructions to Applicants:To apply please submit a cover letter addressing each minimum qualification and any applicable preferred qualifications that you meet.
