Mechanical Technician

Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of mechanical equipment and piping systems in an industrial or R&D environment. This individual will work directly with piping, tubing, valves, fittings, pumps, mechanical assemblies, and related equipment, with a strong emphasis on identifying leaks, troubleshooting leak sources, and implementing leak-prevention solutions. Responsibilities will include assembling and modifying piping and tubing systems, installing and replacing valves and fittings, performing leak checks, troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, supporting equipment installation and repairs, and working from mechanical drawings, schematics, and written procedures. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with their hands, and has experience diagnosing problems in piping or fluid systems rather than simply performing routine maintenance. This person should be able to identify potential failure points, determine the cause of leaks or equipment issues, and make the appropriate mechanical repairs or modifications to improve system reliability. Salary will range from 70-85K. On0site 5 days a week Skills and Requirements 3+ years of hands-on mechanical technician, maintenance technician, millwright, pipefitting, or similar industrial experienceHands-on experience working with piping, tubing, valves, fittings, flanges, pumps, and mechanical assembliesExperience identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing leaks in piping or fluid systemsUnderstanding of common leak points and methods used to prevent recurring leaksExperience assembling, installing, repairing, and modifying mechanical systemsAbility to safely use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and general mechanical maintenance equipmentExperience performing preventive and corrective maintenanceAbility to read and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, equipment documentation, and proceduresStrong mechanical troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and determine the root cause of mechanical problemsComfortable working in a hands-on industrial, laboratory, manufacturing, or R&D environmentNavy Nuke ELT/MM backgroundExperience with stainless steel piping or tubing systemsExperience with compression fittings, threaded connections, flanged connections, gaskets, seals, and valvesExperience performing pressure or leak testing of assembled systemsExperience with gas, compressed air, water, coolant, vacuum, hydraulic, or other process systemsExperience installing or maintaining pumps, regulators, gauges, instrumentation, and related mechanical componentsExperience fabricating or modifying piping/tubing systemsWelding, brazing, tube bending, or pipefitting experienceExperience supporting prototype, test, R&D, nuclear, aerospace, chemical processing, or advanced manufacturing environmentsOSHA or other industrial safety training We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
