Job Summary As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, your voice influences patient care at every turn—through collaborative relationships and formal opportunities. You will help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing. Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and state standards. Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and model the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience. Assess patient pain regularly and implement effective pain management, including reassessments after intervention. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs proactively. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, potential side effects, and follow‑up measures. Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Teach non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes. Prepare patients and families for future self‑management. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 60 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date. PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (RN) obtained within 60 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse diploma. Prior experience in a 12‑hour night shift emergency department.
