LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN) – FAMILY HEALTH JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST (JBNJ) | NEW JERSEY Make a Difference. Serve Those Who Serve Our Nation. Position Type: Full-Time | Civilian Contractor via Central Care Incorporated COMPENSATION & BENEFITS $32.00/hour Base Rate $4.57/hour Health & Welfare (H&W) 80 Hours PTO (accrued annually based on wage determination) 56 Hours Sick Leave (accrued annually) 11 Paid Federal Holidays SCHEDULE Schedule: Monday -Friday, with 8-hour shifts between (0730-1630) (1hr unpaid lunch) 7:30 AM-4:30 PM, not to exceed more than 40 hours per week. Minimum Requirements: Must have successfully completed all education and training requirements leading to and graduated from an accredited national, state, or military equivalent school for Practical Nursing Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Associates Degree or Higher Certification in addition to Basic Life Support , (BLS) CPR/AED preferred prior to start date. Two years of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation. Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse. Core Responsibilities: Initiates, performs, and completes assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations within the scope of practice. Completes assigned patient care based on the patients’ conditions assigned patient care based on the patients’ conditions use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report, and record relevant patient information. Observes, identifies, and responds to the patient’s needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education. Prepares and administers prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) and performs treatments according to established policies/procedures. Recognizes urgent or emergent patient care situations, seeks assistance from the RN and/or Provider, and initiates appropriate emergency interventions as directed. Participates as a member of the MDG Rapid Response Team for emergency situations (within the scope of practice). Performs support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing, and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and monitoring the patient’s condition before, during, and following the procedure. Ensures all equipment is properly assembled, operates, cleaned, and stored at the end of each work shift. Ensures preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed. Performs medical records reviews and applies appropriate protocols and guidelines to determine medical needs. Maintains required certifications and completes required MDG training and yearly CEUs. Maintains BLS certification. Performs other duties within the LPN scope of care and MDG policies and procedures. Performs Clinic Staff Support Protocols (CSSPs), walk-in patients per clinic protocols. Orients peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of practice. Integrates healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare delivery, education of patients and their families and employee satisfaction. Performs other duties as required, to include assisting with Pediatric patients and patients in the Women’s Health Clinic.
