TIG Welder / Fabricator
This role focuses on precision TIG welding and fabrication of metal components in accordance with detailed drawings, specifications, and quality standards. You will use your craftsmanship and attention to detail to produce high-quality welds and assemblies while working both independently and collaboratively in a climate-controlled shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel components with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings to determine job requirements and sequence of operations.
- Fabricate parts and assemblies using cutting, grinding, fitting, and welding techniques to meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment to achieve proper weld penetration, appearance, and structural integrity.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for accuracy, strength, and overall quality, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company policies and OSHA safety standards.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other fabricators to complete projects efficiently and resolve issues.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on welding and fabrication equipment to ensure reliable operation.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience as a TIG welder and fabricator working with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
- Proficiency in TIG welding, including the ability to weld thin-gauge and precision components.
- Strong blueprint reading skills, including the ability to interpret weld symbols and fabrication drawings.
- Demonstrated fabrication skills, including cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembling metal components.
- Knowledge of welding safety practices, procedures, and OSHA safety standards.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify dimensions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during the workday.
- Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working as an aluminum fabricator in a production or job-shop environment.
- Comfort working from detailed blueprints and layout instructions to plan and execute fabrication tasks.
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship.

Work Environment
This position is based in a climate-controlled shop environment focused on welding and fabrication work. You will spend most of the day on your feet, handling metal components and operating TIG welding and fabrication equipment. Safety practices are a priority, with adherence to OSHA standards and proper use of protective gear. The setting supports collaborative work with supervisors, engineers, and fellow fabricators while also allowing for independent task execution.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ladson, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr.
