We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to excel, and we are dedicated to helping them achieve their goals.Job Description & Functions:Tutor students ranging from K-12, reading, writing, and math programs.Engage students in meaningful learning experiences tailored to their individual needs.Provide guidance and support to students to help them achieve academic success.On-campus instruction opportunities available for classroom experience.Prepares for each instructional session; gathers and prepares materials as appropriateGreets students and initiates instruction to personally engage each studentInstructs students according to the design of the Sylvan programsManages students, tasks, and time to create a balanced and robust instructional sessionEvaluates and records the progress of each student on their program assignmentUses praise and encouragement to ensure students are engaged and inspired to learn, while providing Sylvan tokens given for specific achievements according to the Sylvan instructional management standardsRecords and tracks tokens earned by studentsManages the conclusion of each instructional session and manages the completion of learning logs and transition activities Supports procedures to ensure student safety and well-beingCommunicates specific student needs to Center DirectorsAttends periodic staff meetings and completes ongoing training as neededCompletes certification training on each Sylvan program taught to studentsRequirements:Bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum 2 years of tutoring experience preferred.Proficiency in teaching math, reading, writing, and comprehension.Passion for teaching and helping students succeed.Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learnStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.Proficient in working with a touchscreen tablet (Chromebook, iPad, etc.) Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational skillsProven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexibleSelf-sufficiency in ownership of work and tasksProven ability to communicate effectively in writingAbility to work collaboratively; strong team playerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. We will also offer Home School Support Monday-Friday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Please provide your preferred availability below. Compensation and Benefits:Hourly pay rate based on experience and availability.
