About the Position

Job Title: Monitor Technician I Profession: Monitor Technician Specialty: FS Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: None or an equivalent combination of education and experience License: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire Certifications: N/A Must-Have: Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretations and performing ECG tracings is helpful. Description: Under general supervision, will monitor telemetry setup on patients. Responsible for monitoring the patient once nursing staff have attached the patient to the telemetry unit. Check for accurate date/time printout on rhythm strips. Provide daily printings of each patient's rhythm strip. Maintain appropriate alarm settings for each patient. Assist in troubleshooting monitor equipment. Alert staff when a patient is in crisis. Perform ECGs as needed. Maintain supplies for the monitor area. Performs other duties as assigned. Good computer and interpersonal skills that allow for developing effective working relationships with staff are essential.
