Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mood disorder symptoms, understanding the intensity, frequency, and duration of their challenges. Collaborate with clients in developing personalized treatment plans that align with their goals, preferences, and unique histories. Implement evidence-based treatment methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to ensure effective therapy practices. Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and strategies for self-care and recovery. Regularly monitor client progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to meet evolving needs. Coordinate care with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive support for clients. Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in the treatment of mood disorders to enhance therapy proficiency. Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines. Engage in case discussions, team collaboration meetings, and professional development workshops to continuously improve skills. Serve as an advocate for mental health awareness, helping to reduce stigma and meet clients' therapy needs. Patient Population / Client Focus This role primarily focuses on providing therapeutic support to individuals and families navigating complex relational challenges, including divorce, parenting disputes, and significant life transitions. Qualifications A current and active Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license from the state of New York. A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field. Empathetic, nonjudgmental attitude toward clients' experiences, fostering openness in therapy. Strong organizational abilities and effective time management skills to manage a caseload efficiently.
