Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – All Shifts Limited Full-Time Openings | PRN & On-Call Opportunities Available If you are a compassionate, dependable CNA who takes pride in providing quality resident care, we would love to hear from you. We are currently accepting applications for CNAs on PM and NOC shifts. We have a limited number of full-time positions available and are especially interested in building a strong pool of PRN and On-Call CNAs who are available to assist with open shifts, call-offs, weekends, holidays, and additional staffing needs. New graduates are welcome to apply, as well as experienced CNAs. We are looking for team members who understand that excellent CNA care is more than completing an assignment—it means being attentive, dependable, respectful, and willing to help wherever needed. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct resident care in accordance with each resident's individualized care plan, facility policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal requirements. CNAs work under the direction of the Charge Nurse and nursing leadership to promote the highest possible level of resident comfort, dignity, safety, independence, and quality of life. At our facility, CNAs are expected to work as a team . While each CNA may have an assigned group of residents, resident care is a shared responsibility. Call lights, safety concerns, meal assistance, and residents requesting help should not be ignored simply because the resident is assigned to another CNA. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for CNAs who are: Reliable and accountable – Someone we can count on to arrive on time, work their scheduled shifts, and communicate appropriately when an issue arises. Resident-focused – Someone who treats every resident with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect. Team-oriented – Someone willing to help coworkers and assist residents throughout the unit, not only those on their assigned group. Communicative – Someone who speaks with residents during care, explains what they are doing, listens to concerns, and promptly communicates important information to the nurse. Observant – Someone who notices and reports changes in condition, skin concerns, behaviors, pain, changes in eating or drinking, mobility concerns, and other significant observations. Responsible with documentation – Someone who completes required charting accurately and on time and understands that documentation is part of resident care. Professional – Someone who can work respectfully with residents, families, coworkers, students, visitors, and leadership, even during busy or challenging situations. Willing to learn – Someone who participates in required education, competencies, skills training, and accepts coaching when needed. QUALIFICATIONS Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing as required by the State of California. New graduate CNAs are welcome to apply. Previous skilled nursing or long-term care experience is preferred but not required. Must be able to perform the physical functions necessary to provide direct resident care, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic documentation are preferred. Must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, accountability, and the ability to work as part of a team. Must be willing to comply with facility attendance, safety, infection prevention, resident rights, abuse prevention, confidentiality, and clinical care policies. GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral care, hygiene, and other personal care needs. Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, mobility, and use of mechanical lifts or other assistive devices according to the resident's care plan. Complete resident rounds and assigned care timely throughout the shift. Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests for assistance. Assist residents throughout the unit when immediate assistance is needed, regardless of assignment, and communicate with the assigned CNA when appropriate. Communicate with residents before and during care, including explaining what is being done and where the resident is being taken. Protect resident privacy, dignity, preferences, and rights during all aspects of care. Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns promptly to the nurse. Report skin changes, bruising, redness, pressure areas, tears, wounds, pain, unusual behaviors, changes in mobility, changes in intake, or other concerns immediately. Assist with meals, meal tray distribution, feeding, hydration and nutritional supplements as assigned. Ensure residents have access to fresh water and appropriate hydration unless otherwise restricted by their care plan or physician orders. Assist with scheduled toileting, bowel and bladder programs, and continence care. Obtain and document vital signs, weights, intake/output, meal percentages, and other information as assigned. Complete all required electronic documentation and flow sheets accurately and before the end of the shift. Immediately notify the nurse of resident refusals or circumstances preventing assigned care from being completed. Maintain resident rooms and care areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Ensure call lights, personal belongings, assistive devices, and other necessary items are within the resident's reach. Follow proper hand hygiene, PPE, Enhanced Barrier Precautions, isolation precautions, and other infection prevention practices. Follow proper body mechanics and resident-transfer procedures to protect both residents and staff. Answer questions and concerns professionally and notify the nurse or supervisor when something requires additional follow-up. Immediately report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, mistreatment, or misappropriation in accordance with facility policy and mandatory reporting requirements. Maintain resident confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Complete required orientation, annual education, in-services, and competency evaluations. Work cooperatively with nurses, CNAs, rehabilitation, dietary, activities, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Perform other CNA duties within the scope of the position as assigned by the Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing, Director of Staff Development or Administrator. SCHEDULING We are currently hiring for NOC shifts: AM Shift - 6:30a - 2:45p PM Shift - 2:30p - 10:45p NOC Shift - 10:30p - 6:45a Availability varies by shift. We currently have limited full-time openings , but we welcome applicants interested in PRN and On-Call positions . PRN/On-Call CNAs should have reasonable flexibility to assist with open shifts and staffing needs. Availability for weekends and holidays is strongly preferred. OUR EXPECTATION Our residents deserve CNAs who care about the work they do. We do not expect perfection, but we do expect communication, accountability, teamwork, and effort . If you see a resident who needs help, help them. If you cannot complete something, communicate it. If you notice a change in a resident, report it. If you make a mistake, be honest about it so it can be addressed. We are looking for CNAs who want to be part of a team that provides safe, respectful, and compassionate care - not simply complete a task list.
