Travel RN Cardiac Cath Lab job at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a large academic hospital and Level I trauma center, recognized for advanced cardiac care and innovation. The Cardiac Cath Lab features 18 recovery beds and handles 40-60 cases daily, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-3. You will work Monday through Friday with no call, weekends, or holidays. Top procedures include left heart catheterization with or without percutaneous coronary intervention, Mitral Clips, WATCHMAN implants, patent foramen ovale closure, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, ablations, pacemaker and ICD placements, laser lead extraction, VATs with or without lobectomy, and incision and drainage. The most specialized skill required is invasive removal of arterial sheaths post procedure. Common equipment includes C-Clamp, chest tubes, PCA pumps, and ventricular assist devices. The unit does not titrate vasoactive drips. This area of the facility does utilize ancillary staff. You must have at least 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience within the last 3 years and be comfortable with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Registered Nurse, Cath Lab Experience: 2 years Travel Experience: 1 assignment in General Certifications: BLS-AHA

ACLS-AHA

CERT-NIH Stroke Scale Holidays: None Weekends: None On Call: None Scrub Colors: Navy Blue Experience with pulling venous and arterial sheaths from the femoral, radial, and brachial sites OK With Recovery Setting for Cath Lab, ER Lab and CVOR patients that do not require an ICU level of care.
