This is an Hourly position.
Overview POSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. The incumbent performs the duties described below in accordance with the specific needs of the practice. If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association.
Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma or GED AND Certificate of completion or Diploma from a medical assistant program including internship/ externship applied learning. OR Education equivalency: at least 6 months experience in Certified Medical Assistant role OR proof of completion of on-the-job training/education program for certified medical assisting in another healthcare organization. Licensure/ Certification: CMA-Certified Medical Assistant Current certification by one the following approved certifying agencies:
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with an electronic health record, phlebotomy. Licensure/ Certification: If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
