Position Title: Social Media Coordinator Term: September 14, 2026 to December 14, 2026 Location: Remote, United States Time Commitment: Part-time internship; approximately 10–15 hours per week Compensation: $20 per hour Posting Date: August 1, 2026 About Babel Institute Babel Institute is an independent, nonpartisan public policy think tank dedicated to advancing practical policy solutions to the social, economic, and political challenges facing young people around the world. Our Regional Studies Program covers the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Africa. Founded in 2025, Babel brings together young leaders, scholars, and policymakers to ensure that the voices and perspectives of the next generation inform the decisions that shape their future. Through research, education, and community engagement,we develop solutions that are just, actionable, and centered on the needs of young people. Position Overview We are looking to expand our communications and digital presence as we prepare to launch Verity Voices, our journal and publication platform. The Social Media Coordinator will help develop and publish content across Babel Institute’s social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Facebook. The coordinator will work with program directors, fellows, and contributors to promote research publications, programs, events, announcements, and other initiatives. The role is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in communications, digital media, public policy, journalism, or related fields. This is a paid, part-time internship for the Fall 2026 semester. Responsibilities Create and publish content across Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Facebook. Create graphics and short-form videos for program updates, director introductions, events, and Verity Voices Journal content. Develop and maintain a regular social media posting schedule. Track social media analytics to identify what performs well and recommend improvements. Coordinate with program directors, fellows, and contributors to highlight their work and ongoing projects. Monitor youth issues, global affairs, and public policy conversations to identify timely content ideas. Support additional communications projects as needed. Qualifications Current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States. Prior experience managing social media accounts or creating digital content. Strong writing, editing, and communication skills. Ability to adapt messaging for different social media platforms and audiences. Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar design platforms. Experience creating or editing short-form video content. Ability to work independently, stay organized, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly. Interest in public policy, global affairs, education, youth development, nonprofit work, or social impact is preferred. Compensation This is a paid internship compensated at $20 per hour. Time Commitment The Social Media Coordinator should expect to dedicate approximately 10 to 15 hours per week to the role. Work will be completed remotely on a flexible schedule.
