Senior Staff AccountantYou'll play an important role in our month end close, reconciliations, job costing, financial reporting, and accounting operations. Beyond simply identifying discrepancies, we're looking for someone who wants to understand why they happened and help improve the processes behind them.Month End Close & Financial ReportingLead, organize, and participate in the month end close processPrepare, review, and post journal entries, including accruals, amortizations, and reclassesCompile and analyze financial information to support accurate reportingAssist with budgets, forecasts, cash flow statements, and other financial reportingAccount Reconciliations & Problem SolvingPerform complex Balance Sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedulesInvestigate and resolve unusual or unexplained accounting entries and discrepanciesIdentify recurring issues and trace them back to their root causeMaintain accurate and auditable supporting documentationJob Costing & Fixed AssetsManage job costing and project accounting processesTrack and reconcile project costs against budgets, purchase orders, and contractsManage fixed assets, including documentation and depreciationManage the accounting functions related to the company vehicle fleet, including commercial leases, documentation, and depreciationProcess Improvement & SystemsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflowsSupport ERP implementation, testing, automation, and other systems initiativesPartner with technical staff, project leaders, and managers to identify efficiency improvementsCreate reports and automate processes where appropriateCross Functional & Audit SupportCollaborate with teams across the organization on projects and initiativesSupport AR, AP, and payroll functions as neededFulfill tax and audit requests and prepare supporting schedulesLiaise with external auditors and CPA firms as neededWhat We Are Looking ForBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including job costing or project accountingStrong working knowledge of GAAP, journal entries, and financial reportingExperience with complex Balance Sheet reconciliations and supporting schedulesFamiliarity with ROU, cash flow, revenue recognition, and external auditsExperience with ERP or job costing systems such as Business Central, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platformsStrong Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office skillsQuickBooks Desktop proficiency required; comparable accounting software will be consideredStrong analytical and problem solving skills with a root cause mindsetComfortable working through incomplete, inconsistent, or ambiguous informationHighly organized with strong accountability and time managementAble to work independently while collaborating effectively with othersStrong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationshipsWhat We Offer$70,000-$85,000 AnnuallyMedical, dental, and vision insuranceLife and AD&D insuranceDisability insurance401(k)PTO and sick time8 paid holidays plus 1 flex holidayFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Identity theft protectionDiscount on Renewal by Andersen windows and doorsEmployee discounts on travel, apparel, electronics, restaurants, and moreOur CultureWe encourage a culture of innovation to bring your ideas to the table.
