Administrative AssistantNaphCare is hiring an Administrative Assistant to join our team of medical professionals in the William C. Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore, AL. As a Correctional Administrative Assistant, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals who provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.ResponsibilitiesThe Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:Receive and route visitors and inquiries and issues to the appropriate staffTransmit correspondence and medical records via mail, email or faxPerform various clerical and administrative functions, including ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies and sorting and distribute all mail and interoffice correspondencePerform bookkeeping duties, such as preparation of expense reports and maintaining petty cash and receiptsTransmit and maintain all medical claims and all subpoenas and/or medical record requests as requiredAssist the HSA and DON with recruiting efforts, credentialing, scheduling interviews, and processing new hire documentationUtilization management to include processing offsite referrals, appointments, patient registrations and transport requestsGather and maintain documentation required for all accreditation surveysQualificationsRequirements / QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED); two years college, preferredAbility to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)Must be proficient utilizing Microsoft Office suite of productsAble to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screeningPhysical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US and we are growing.
