Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team and is currently recruiting for a Utility III to work from our manufacturing facility located in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Shifts include:

• 1st Shift: Monday to Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: Monday to Friday 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM

As a Utility III this candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining areas where potatoes are handled before being sent through for processing. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unloads potatoes.
• Operates and maintains Spudnick.
• Operates fork trucks when necessary.
• Assists in potato receiving equipment maintenance.
• Performs general maintenance on Spudnick, belts and bins.
• Maintains a clean working area where potatoes are offloaded.
• Keeps grounds clean around Spudnick and dumpsters.
• Places liners in dumpsters as needed.
• Cleans pit and pump out area as needed.
• Cleans and replaces filters as needed. Empties and refills oil tanks while working in high-temperature conditions.
• Performs all duties as requested, clean-up, floor scrubbing, etc.
• Overtime as required to fulfill production requirements.
• Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.

• Requires basic reading and math skills.
• Working knowledge of potato unloading equipment.
• Specific knowledge of individual plant processes is preferred.
• Must be able to learn each of the positions in the packaging process
• Standing required 100% of the time.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a for lift license and the physical ability to lift up to 85 lbs.
• Ability to communicate production issues to fellow co-workers and supervision.
