Early Childhood Aide

Description

Saint John the Apostle Catholic School in Virginia Beach, VA is currently seeking a full-time Early Learners Instructional Aide to support the instructional efforts of the classroom teacher. The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma, have at least 3years of experience in a classroom setting to provide supervision and support of instructional environment. The position requires excellent oral and written communications, attention to detail, the ability to work as part of team and provide exceptional support to students and families rooted in Catholic values.
Responsibilities/Tasks

• Assists classroom teacher with daily preparations.
• Aid students during whole class and small group instruction.
• Assist the teacher in completing individual assessment of students.
• Assist the teacher with instructional materials and classroom organization.
• Act as a substitute when the teacher is absent or in other grades when needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or higher.
• 3 years of experience as an Instructional Aide in a classroom setting preferred.
• Ability to stand/walk/stoop/bend while supervising and assisting students in daily activities both inside and outside the school building.
• Possess basic First Aid and CPR/AED certificate preferred; complete within 90 days of appointment.

Start Date : 2026-2027 School Year (beginning August 2026)

Salary/Hours : Diocesan salary scale/ Hours (40hrs./week)
