Forensic Accountant

Location: Suffolk County, NY (Hybrid) About the Opportunity We're partnering with a nationally recognized construction consulting firm that specializes in surety consulting, forensic accounting, construction claims, and litigation support . Their team works alongside some of the country's leading surety companies, insurance carriers, attorneys, and contractors to resolve complex construction disputes and performance bond claims. This is an opportunity to join a highly specialized niche within the construction industry where you'll combine technical accounting expertise with project analysis, forensic investigations, and construction consulting. What You'll Do Perform forensic accounting analyses on complex construction projects. Review contractor financial statements, job cost reports, WIP schedules, and cash flow. Analyze payment and performance bond claims. Prepare cost-to-complete analyses and evaluate contractor financial exposure. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred (or actively pursuing). 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Surety consulting Forensic accounting Construction claims consulting Construction accounting Public accounting with significant construction clients Strong understanding of: Job costing Percentage-of-completion accounting Construction contracts Cash flow forecasting Cost-to-complete analysis Advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical and communication abilities. Highly Preferred Experience working with: Construction claims Bond claims Litigation support Expert witness engagements Why This Role?
