Job Title: Shipfitter

Location: Houma , LA

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled Shipfitter to fabricate, fit, and assemble structural components for marine vessels. Must be able to read blueprints and work safely in a shipyard environment.

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Shipfitting or structural fitting experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Skilled with cutting, fitting, and measuring tools
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
Preferred Qualifications
  • Apprenticeship or formal training
  • Aluminum fabrication experience
  • Basic welding or tacking experience

  1. What shipfitting experience do you have?
  2. How do you read and use blueprints?
  3. What tools are you most experienced with?
  4. Describe a difficult fitting job you’ve handled.
  5. How do you work safely in confined spaces or at heights?
