Job Description

This role leads electrical installations for new residential construction projects, focusing on multi-story townhomes and multi-family buildings. The lead electrician oversees a small team of electrical helpers, ensures all work meets code requirements, and delivers high-quality, safe, and efficient electrical systems. This is a long-term opportunity that begins as a 6‑month contract with the intention to transition into a permanent full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical installations for wiring, panels, service equipment, lighting circuits, and device installation in new residential builds, including 2-story and 3-story townhomes and multi-family units of approximately 2,000 sq ft.
• Direct the daily work of electricians and apprentices by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and maintaining project timelines.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and builder specifications to ensure accurate and efficient electrical installation.
• Inspect work quality throughout all phases of construction to verify workmanship, code compliance, and system functionality.
• Ensure all electrical work meets NEC, state, and local electrical codes, as well as internal company standards.
• Mentor apprentices and junior electricians by providing hands-on training, guidance, and feedback to support their development.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices and job-site safety protocols, including performing hazard assessments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on each job site.
• Coordinate daily with plumbing, HVAC, framing, and general contractors to ensure smooth project flow and resolve conflicts in scheduling or layout.
• Manage materials, equipment orders, and inventory for assigned projects to avoid delays and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues that arise during construction and during final walkthroughs.
• Communicate professionally and clearly with homeowners, builders, inspectors, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Perform conduit bending, conduit installation, and wire pulling as required by project scope.
• Complete panel wiring, device terminations, and final connections while ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Altoona, PA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Altoona,PA.
