Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency within the last 18 months.

Details

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Floating required to other Med Surg/Tele units

Requirements

• Active compact or TN RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience within the last 18 months required, including documented location of use
• Must pass Epic competency exam on site (one attempt allowed)
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience administering and monitoring chemotherapy preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care and isolation precautions
• Two supervisory references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to oncology and medical-surgical patients including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
• Work collaboratively within a telemetry and neuro stepdown care environment
• Travel experience preferred but not required, making this a good fit for experienced first-time travelers
• Candidates requiring respirator fit testing must be clean-shaven
• No block scheduling or special schedule accommodations available
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• All requested time off must be disclosed prior to consideration, as additional time off cannot be approved later
