We are seeking a compassionate and organized Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer program. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and manage all volunteer services—making a difference in the lives of patients, families, and communities we serve. We are seeking a compassionate and organized Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer program. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and manage all volunteer services—making a difference in the lives of patients, families, and communities we serve. What You'll Do Recruit, train, and supervise hospice volunteers (both patient-facing and administrative) Conduct volunteer orientations and maintain personnel files Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and develop volunteer care plans based on patient needs Match patients and caregivers with appropriate volunteers and coordinate ongoing assignments Utilize online platforms and social media to enhance volunteer recruitment Track volunteer hours and maintain documentation in compliance with regulatory standards Ensure monthly 5% volunteer cost savings goal is met or exceeded Act as a public liaison, attending community events, building partnerships, and promoting hospice services Participate in quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives Provide compassionate education and support to patients and their families Maintain professional development and participate in required trainings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required (Humanities or Liberal Arts preferred) Minimum 1 year of experience in hospice, home health, or similar healthcare field At least 1 year of supervisory or volunteer management experience preferred Proven ability to coordinate programs and build community relationships Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Able to work independently and flex hours for community events (including evenings/weekends) Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital communication tools Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation Please note: Legacy Hospice is a drug-free workplace.
