UNARMED SECURITY OFFICER

We are seeking vigilant, reliable, and professional candidates to join our team as an Unarmed Security Officer (Flex / Part-Time) .
This role is ideal for individuals seeking schedule flexibility or supplemental income. As a flex officer, your shifts and assignments will vary based on operational needs, client requests, and call-in coverage across multiple job sites in the local area. You will serve as a visual deterrent to misconduct, monitor facilities, enforce client rules, and ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and property.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols of designated facilities, parking areas, and perimeters to detect safety hazards, unauthorized entry, or signs of criminal activity.
- Control access points by verifying employee badges, checking in visitors, issuing guest passes, and maintaining visitor logs.
- Monitor CCTV security cameras, alarm systems, and emergency equipment as assigned by site post orders.
- Write detailed, accurate Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and complete Incident Reports for any safety hazards, property damage, trespassing, or emergencies.
- De-escalate tense situations using clear, professional verbal communication.
- Promptly contact and coordinate with local emergency responders (police, fire, EMS) during critical incidents.
- Follow specific post orders and client procedures, adapting quickly as assignments shift between different sites.
- Hours: Variable / Part-Time (day, swing, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts available).
- Flex Coverage: Requires availability to take on-call shifts, fill in on short notice for call-offs, or support temporary event/coverage sites.
- Travel: Reliable personal transportation is required to travel between multiple client locations within the designated service radius.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Licensing: Active Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) in good standing (or ability to provide proof of application/eligibility).
- Training: State-mandated 20-Hour Basic Unarmed Security Training Certificate completed (or completed within required state onboarding guidelines).
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Transportation: Valid driver's license and dependable personal transportation.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with Illinois state licensing guidelines.
- Physical Demands: Ability to walk, stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and perform duties in varied outdoor weather conditions.
- Skills: Strong English verbal and written communication skills, basic computer/smartphone literacy for digital reporting, and a customer-service-oriented demeanor.
