Our commitment to sustainability and collaboration helps deliver successful projects that positively impact our communities and the environments we serve.Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a full‑time Electrical Designer (EIT) to join our team.A Day in the Life of an Electrical Engineer / Designer (EIT) at HansonHere’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role:Support electrical design efforts on a variety of projects across the country, with emphasis on Hanson’s Government marketAssist with planning, design, and construction support activities under the guidance of licensed Professional Engineers and project managersPrepare and revise electrical drawings, specifications, and design documentationSupport the design of electrical power distribution systems, interior and exterior lighting systems, and fire alarm/low‑voltage systemsAssist with lighting and power system design, grounding systems, electrical distribution layouts, and equipment selectionSupport generator and emergency power system designPrepare calculations and assist with construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews and field observationsCoordinate with project engineers, designers, and CAD/Revit techniciansOther duties as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForWe feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:Required Education & ExperienceBachelor of Science in Electrical EngineeringEngineering‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within six months0-2 years of experience in consulting professional services or a closely related fieldFamiliarity with electrical drawings, specifications, and design documentationProficiency with Microsoft Office and basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or RevitPreferred QualificationsProgress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensureExposure to electrical, building, and energy codesExperience working on multidisciplinary project teamsUnderstanding of power distribution, lighting systems, and electrical calculationsFamiliarity with:Lighting calculation software (Visual, AGI32)Basic power system analysis tools (voltage drop, short‑circuit calculations)Energy analysis tools (COMcheck, FLACOM, EnergyGauge)Soft SkillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamWillingness to learn and accept technical guidanceStrong communication and technical documentation skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailMotivation to pursue professional growth and licensureWorking at HansonAbility to collaborate with colleagues across multiple officesWillingness to travel and work additional hours as project demands requireValid driver’s license requiredSalary Range: $75,000 - $90,000BenefitsOur focus on people means we offer a generous benefits program to help you create a solid foundation for health and security throughout your career, including:Competitive compensationPerformance bonuses401(k) with matching contributionEmployee Stock Ownership PlanComprehensive health & well-being plansFinancial wellness plansWork-life balance programsWant to know more?
