Clinical Coordinator

Special Projects Clinical Coordinator Empire State University is currently seeking a Special ProjectsClinical Coordinator to oversee components of its teacherpreparation programs and recruitment in New York City. The SpecialProjects Clinical Coordinator will work with the Assistant Dean andother members of the College of Education and Marketing teamswithin SUNY Empire. The position will serve to support clinicalexperiences within the initial teacher preparation programs with afocus on residencies in New York City while also serving a criticalneed in building recruiting infrastructure and workforce pipelines.Serving as a frontline communicator to local school buildingleadership will be a key tenet of the position. The successful candidate will be able to interpret stateregulations and communicate that information effectively tostudents, faculty, and others across the university throughmultiple modes of communication including webinars, presentations, on site meetings, and email. The successful candidate will buildrelationships with key stakeholders across NYC to facilitatemeaningful clinical experiences in diverse settings and seek outrecruitment opportunities. This will involve frequent communicationwith potential placement sites across New York City. In addition to assisting with clinical coordination in NYC forresidents, this person will also work to establish registeredapprenticeships, recruit for our current education degree programs,and work to help build teacher pipelines in partnership withCollege in the High School and faculty. This will include workingwith our local education agencies and other related agencies in theNYC metro region to develop opportunities and outreach forprospective and current students. Duties and Responsibilities Recruit prospective students into undergraduate and graduateeducation degree programs through targeted outreach and engagementefforts with focus on residency models for MAT programs. Partner with the marketing team at Empire to develop targetedmaterials and messaging for teacher residency placements in NYCschools. Outreach to schools in the NYC metro region for recruitment and concierge modeling for student pathways to degree with emphasis on paraprofessional scale up and workforce development models: Meet with school leadership to identify gaps in workforce andwhere Empire can provide educational supports to degree. Support the establishment of registered apprenticeship programsin collaboration with educational partners (ANEW), schooldistricts, and relevant state agencies. Build and strengthen teacher preparation pipelines bycollaborating with College in the High School programs, faculty,and educational partners. Foster relationships with local education agencies (LEAs),school districts, and community organizations to expand programopportunities and student pathways. Design and implement outreach initiatives that increaseawareness of educator preparation programs among prospectivestudents and community stakeholders. Advise and support prospective and current students regardingprogram requirements, career pathways, and available educationalopportunities. Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to identifyworkforce needs and align recruitment and pipeline developmentstrategies accordingly. Represent the institution at recruitment events, educationalconferences, school visits, and community engagementactivities. Monitor, evaluate, and report on recruitment, apprenticeship,and pipeline development efforts to support continuous programimprovement and growth. Onsite supervision for ESTR students: Communicating with students regularly and addressing questionsand concerns related to clinical placements. Collaborate with the CSL office in identifying the number offield supervisors needed and provide requested information toinitiate hiring. Supporting the use of technology related to clinicalsupervision as appropriate. Participating in program meetings related to teacher residencyrecruitment and support. Developing and participating in webinars for both students andstaff related to clinical practices and procedures. Providing weekly office hours for student questions andconcerns. Provide information related to student questions regardingclinical placements and requirements. Job Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college oruniversity. Excellent and effective communication and organizationalskills. Experience working in Pre-K through 12 or higher educationsettings. Ability to work within a collaborative environment with diversepopulations. Ability to read and interpret SUNY and NYSED Guidelines andRegulations. Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in education or related field. Experience with NYS Certification and Licensure processes. Experience working with higher education faculty andstaff. Experience working with external partners. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.). Special Information This is a full-time, grant-funded, temporary professional staffappointment based in New York City. Continuation of employment iscontingent upon the availability of grant funding. May require occasional evening and/or weekend obligations inaccordance with student and university needs. Travel is required to fulfill department and university-widecommitments. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the UnitedStates on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is not available forthis position. Additional Information Rank/Salary: Senior Staff Assistant, SL3 /$80,000.
