About Escuela Avancemos! Academy:
Escuela Avancemos! is a K8 Academy located in the heart of Southwest Detroit, proudly serving a diverse community with a high population of English as a Second Language (ESL) learners. We are seeking passionate, culturally responsive educators who are committed to helping all students achieve at the highest levels through rigorous instruction, restorative practices, and intentional language development support. - Educators who can plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that supports both academic achievement and English language development
- Implement culturally responsive teaching practices and ESL strategies to support diverse learners
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students at varying levels of language proficiency
- Analyze student performance and language data to inform instruction and interventions
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and restorative classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues, ESL staff, and support teams to ensure student success
- Build strong partnerships with families and caregivers
- Maintain accurate records, assessments, and required documentation
- Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Valid Michigan teaching certification for the appropriate grade level
- ESL/ELL Endorsement, preferred
- Commitment to culturally responsive and student-centered instruction
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check
- Salary or commensurate with experience.
