Center AssociateThe Center Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He/she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.Work side by side with the business owner and other experienced The UPS Store Staff members. Grow through training to be able to open the store, close the store, and everything in between. Must be available to work 30-40 hours per week with some Saturdays 9am-3pm. Looking for a motivated person that wants to learn the business, and can operate the store at a high level in a leadership role. Advancement opportunities into Shiftleader, Store Assistant Manager and/or Manager.Responsibilities:Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiriesContinuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadershipTakes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutionsTakes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trendsOperates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach othersMaintains a clean, organized, and safe working environmentPerforms other duties as assignedPerforms regular cashier dutiesRotates Saturday shifts with other coworkersFilling in at other store location if necessaryQualifications:High school diploma or GED preferredAble to cross sell and up sell products ad servicesOutstanding phone skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and mathPunctual, reliable, and responsibleAble to lift 50 pounds with assistance
