Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Network Connectivity - Seattle

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
• We need strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, storage, and networking services.
• We expect deep knowledge of networking and telecommunications technologies across Layers 0-3, including dark fiber, DWDM, Ethernet, IP-VPN, DIA, broadband, cellular, and satellite connectivity.
• We value demonstrated experience in the Americas telecom connectivity market, including carrier ecosystems, infrastructure landscapes, and regional connectivity offerings across key markets.
• We need excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across business and technical audiences.
• We look for solid organization and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across geographies.
• We require experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to speed up infrastructure analysis and design documentation, while validating outputs and handling operational data in line with sensitivity and security requirements.
• We expect reuse-first, AI-assisted delivery and automation practices to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, with traceable, auditable changes aligned to resiliency and security expectations.
• Preferred: experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence for workflow, documentation, and reporting.
• Preferred: familiarity with cloud connectivity and hybrid architectures.
• Preferred: relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator.
• Preferred: data analysis skills, including the ability to interrogate, model, and visualize large datasets to identify trends, cost drivers, or delivery risks.
• Preferred: experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.

• We lead structured requirements capture with business and technology stakeholders, translating connectivity needs, constraints, and non-functional requirements into clear solution requirements.
• We develop end-to-end connectivity designs aligned to approved architectural patterns and reference architectures, including high-level and low-level designs, network diagrams, implementation constraints, and documented assumptions.
• We own the full tender and bid lifecycle for telecom connectivity solutions, including bid documentation, RFI/RFP coordination with sourcing partners, technical and commercial assessment, and vendor selection rationale.
• We embed resilience and operational risk controls into all designs, including path and carrier diversity, removal of single points of failure, serviceability and monitoring requirements, and clear demarcation and escalation models.
• We lead design reviews and architecture governance, manage design exceptions with documented risk acceptance, and ensure decisions follow established engineering standards and controls.
• We design and implement scalable, resilient infrastructure architectures that support business-critical applications and services.
• We collaborate with telecom service providers, vendors, and internal engineering teams throughout the bid and design lifecycle to ensure solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and deliverable within constraints.
• We manage supplier relationships and performance governance, holding providers accountable to service level agreements, driving service improvement plans, and running recurring quality and performance reviews.
• We support regional and global network strategy execution through process improvements and service optimization, serve as the telecom connectivity market expert for the Americas region, lead evaluation and adoption of new technologies, and mentor junior engineers.
• We use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within our work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
• We apply reuse-first, AI-assisted practices in delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes remain traceable and auditable and align with resiliency and security expectations.
