Systems Testing/QA Specialist

Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to support enterprise application testing initiatives within the Ontario Government.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, test cases and automated test scripts while supporting defect management, system integration testing, regression testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, test scripts and complex test cases
Perform functional, integration, system, regression and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, UFT, TestComplete or Postman
Create test data using SOAP UI, Swagger, Postman and other automated testing tools
Perform backend/database validation using SQL in an Oracle environment
Identify, document, prioritize and track defects throughout the complete testing lifecycle
Lead or participate in defect review and triage activities
Establish entry and exit criteria for system testing efforts
Conduct performance, stress and load testing using tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
Validate data integrity, consistency, migration and transformation across systems and databases
Support UAT activities including test data preparation and execution
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
Maintain test results, test coverage, traceability and quality metrics
Collaborate closely with developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers and other stakeholders
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives
Support accessibility testing in accordance with AODA standards

Must-Have Skills

Strong system testing experience, including automated test script development and execution of complex test plans
Strong functional, integration and regression testing experience for web applications
Experience creating test data using SOAP UI, Swagger and Postman
Experience creating and managing defects based on priority and severity
Strong defect lifecycle management and defect coordination experience
Experience with SQL and database verification in an Oracle environment
Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Experience creating system testing entry and exit criteria
Strong understanding of SDLC and software testing lifecycle methodologies
Experience with automated testing tools and version control systems
Knowledge of Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodologies

Knowledge of AODA accessibility requirements

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Senior QA/Test Specialist with strong experience across manual and automated testing, complex enterprise web applications, SQL/database validation, API testing, defect management and UAT. Experience within healthcare or large public-sector environments would be highly valuable.
