Description:
Physical Therapist Assistant needed for acute care setting.
Facility has 25 beds and is a Level IV Trauma Center with a Chest Pain Center.
Average patients per day is around 25, with 7-8 patients per therapist.
Patient population primarily consists of geriatric patients.
Common diagnoses include COPD, CHF, hip fractures, total joints, CABG, stroke, Parkinson's, medically complex cases, debility, respiratory failure, and post-surgical recovery.
Experience in acute care, skilled nursing facilities, long-term care, or rehabilitation is required.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Support staff includes CNAs, a charge RN, phlebotomy, RT, and a hospitalist available 24/7.
Monitoring technology and equipment include EMR, medication dispensing systems, and specialized unit equipment such as Hoyer lifts and exercise machines.
No weekend rotations, on-call duties, or holiday expectations are required.
Shift times are typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Unit culture emphasizes team collaboration and willingness to assist where needed.
