Job Description:

Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Alfond Center for Health, Augusta

Schedule: 40-32 hours/week

Shift: Days, variable hours

Position Highlights:

In this role, the RN will provide continuity of care throughout the patient's endoscopy experiencefrom preparation through recovery. The RN will conduct pre-procedure calls, provide patients with individualized education and instructions to help them prepare for their procedure, and ensure they understand what to expect before, during, and after their visit. Following the procedure, the RN will complete post-procedure follow-up calls to assess recovery, answer questions, reinforce instructions, and identify any concerns that may require additional follow-up. The RN will also provide clinical support on the endoscopy floor as needed, working alongside the care team to meet patient and departmental needs. This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients while supporting them throughout their entire endoscopy journey.

What You'll Do:

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate the learning needs of the patient and/or family, and provide patient and/or family education that is appropriate to their age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Maintains and troubleshoots endoscopes and related equipment. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

Your Qualifications:

• Possess a current State of Maine RN license or the ability to obtain one promptly
• At least 3 years of RN experience is strongly preferred
• Endoscopy/Outpatient experience preferred
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
• Proven and demonstrated critical thinking skills

Compensation Information:

$35.00 - $61.25

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
