Job Title: RN MCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, GRH CPI/MOAB Must-Have: EPIC EMR experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months Description: The Medical Care Unit provides care for patients who are less acute and may be awaiting placement to a long-term care facility. Patients may present with a variety of medical diagnoses. The unit is shared with Inpatient Rehabilitation, and nurses may be required to float between the two units. Inpatient Rehabilitation is designated for intense rehabilitation services. Telemetry experience is preferred. Nurses deliver care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Collaboration with other health team members is essential. Effective interaction with patients and significant others is paramount while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. The unit provides high-quality care to diverse patient populations, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, telemetry, and psychiatric issues. While travelers will not be part of a regular call rotation, they may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census. If called in, the traveler is expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour. Estimated hours per week are 36. Floating between units is required. Weekend rotation is a requirement.
