GI Lab Staff RN (WMC)

Position Overview Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Nurse – Gastroenterology (GI) UHS Wilson Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled RN to provide direct nursing care in the GI setting, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, monitoring patient status, providing education, and ensuring accurate documentation. Sign‑on bonus eligible up to $15,000. Compensation and Work Schedule Primary Department, Division, or Unit: GI Lab, UHS Wilson Medical Center Primary Work Shift: Day Rotational, Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32 Compensation Range: $40.70 – $61.05 per hour, depending on experience Responsibilities Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients, serving as primary and/or accountable nurse. Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications per UHS policy. Shares responsibility for productivity and resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Complies with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies. Participates in the Nursing Shared Governance Model, including Unit Council, improvement initiatives, and peer review practices. Engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completes all mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and evidence‑based practice. Provides supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Follows UHS Values and performs any assigned duties. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing school. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Previous clinical nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory setting. License and Certification Current New York State RN license. Preferred: Professional certification in a related specialty. Relevant certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit.
