Role Overview As a Specialized Memory Caregiver at FirstLight Home Care, you will bring warmth, patience, and expert memory care support directly into clients' homes. You will work closely with families to create a calm, safe, and uplifting environment for individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or age‑related memory decline. How You’ll Make a Difference Provide Specialized Memory Support: Use compassionate redirection, gentle reassurance, and proven de‑escalation techniques to ease anxiety, agitation, and sundowning symptoms. Identify Unmet Needs: Pay close attention to subtle physical, emotional, or environmental cues to figure out unexpressed needs (like discomfort, fatigue, or hunger) before distress escalates. Support Daily Living: Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, hygiene) with a patient, dignified approach that respects the client's independence. Foster Comfort & Connection: Prepare nourishing meals, keep the home environment calm and tidy, and engage clients in meaningful, low‑stress daily activities. Transport & Companionship: Safely transport clients to local appointments or peaceful outings around Grapevine and Flower Mound. What You’ll Need Direct, hands‑on experience caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or cognitive decline. Proven skill in de‑escalation, gentle redirection, and managing sundowning behaviors. Deep empathy, strong intuition for non‑verbal cues, and a calm, reassuring presence. Reliability, flexible availability (including evenings/weekends for sundowning support), and a valid driver's license. Bonus Qualifications (Preferred, Not Required) Active HHA, CNA, or MA certification. CPR and First Aid certifications. Specialized training or certifications in dementia care. Employment Type & Location Type: Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available. Location: In‑person within private client homes throughout Flower Mound and Grapevine.
