Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will operate in a dynamic hospital environment, collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. The setting is fast-paced, requiring the PTA to adapt to varying patient needs while maintaining a focus on quality and compliance with healthcare regulations. The typical work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a consistent weekday schedule that promotes work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing tailored treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) to improve patients' mobility, strength, and overall function.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and manual therapies that align with prescribed protocols to facilitate patient recovery.
• Use modalities like ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and cryotherapy under the guidance of PTs to enhance treatment efficacy.
• Monitor and meticulously document patient progress and responses to therapy, adhering to clinic policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the PT and interdisciplinary team to review and adjust treatment plans based on ongoing assessments of patient outcomes.
• Instruct patients on home exercise programs and provide education on injury prevention techniques, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
• Maintain organized and accurate clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all the appropriate state and federal healthcare regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your patient caseload will primarily consist of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, such as joint replacements and repairs, as well as those facing chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will engage with a diverse range of patients, from active adults requiring rehabilitation after sports injuries to elderly clients recovering from falls or joint replacements. This role requires sensitivity and adaptability to meet the unique needs of each patient, fostering an environment of trust and support.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid and active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Virginia.
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, providing a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and clinical practices.

Preferred Experience

• Ideally, candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopedic outpatient or similar rehabilitation setting, enhancing the quality of care we provide.

Compensation and Benefits
