Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Required Certifications: Stroke certification required Must-Have: - Ability to work three 12-hour shifts per week - Availability for every other weekend and holiday - NHISS certification required Description: This is a 25-bed medical-surgical unit. The unit includes 11 private rooms and 7 semi-private rooms. Nursing ratios are 5:1 on days and 5:6 on nights, with nurses occasionally caring for 1 total care patient. We care for a diverse patient population, with the largest group being stroke patients, including those not requiring TPA. Comfort care and hospice patients are also part of our care. We handle a variety of post-operative cases, such as amputations, drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes. Additionally, we manage heparin drips, wound care, altered mental status cases, CIWA patients, acute kidney injury, dialysis, and COPD exacerbations.
